Anya Taylor-Joy has been busy charming her way through press rounds lately, juggling talk of her crime thriller Lucky and her freshly minted role as a lethal elf in the next Lord of the Rings film. Amid the usual career chatter and stories of running herself breathless on set, the actor casually dropped a personal tidbit that had nothing to do with acting range and everything to do with hoarding sharp objects.
Anya Taylor-Joy confirmed she collects weapons from her movies, and her stash currently includes a Viking sword and a knife from Dune. The actor discussed her hobby while promoting her new projects on television. She explained how each prop holds sentimental value tied to specific roles she has played.
"I have a bunch of really cool weapons. I got a Viking sword, my knife from Dune, and I'll probably get another knife from Lord of the Rings," said Taylor-Joy on the This Morning show.
She then added, "I pierced through my wedding cake with my viking sword," emphasizing just how integrated her prop collection has become into her personal milestones.
The This Morning appearance also touched on details surrounding how Taylor-Joy acquires these items after wrapping a project. She clarified that the props are never taken without permission and are instead gifted to her once filming concludes. The actor mentioned collecting hair ribbons from The Witch alongside her more dramatic weapon pieces. She noted the crews she works with tend to send her off with a keepsake, calling the entire practice a fun tradition rather than a planned habit.
While her prop shelf keeps growing quietly behind the scenes, her upcoming schedule is doing the opposite and making plenty of noise.
Anya Taylor-Joy has a packed 2026 lineup ahead
Anya Taylor-Joy currently has multiple major projects lined up across streaming and film. Her crime thriller Lucky premieres soon, with the actor playing a reformed criminal named Luciana Armstrong. Reese Witherspoon serves as an executive producer on the project, marking a significant creative partnership for Taylor-Joy. The show promises a morally complex character that Taylor-Joy described as an exciting departure from typically likable heroines.
Beyond Lucky, Taylor-Joy is set to appear in Dune: Part Three, reprising her role as Alia Atreides after her earlier cameo. She is also preparing to film the next Lord of the Rings installment, where she will portray a dangerous elf character. The upcoming shoot will take her to New Zealand for the first time. Her growing prop collection may be about to gain a serious upgrade.
