Dunham explained she spent nearly eight and a half years writing Famesick and was highly intentional with every word included, adding that she wanted readers to understand the full emotional context behind the story instead of reducing it to viral headlines.

Premiering at Cannes on May 16, the film reportedly received a huge 10-minute standing ovation while already holding an impressive 84% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Beyond Cannes, Driver has continued building one of Hollywood’s strongest modern filmographies through projects like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where he played Kylo Ren, alongside Oscar-nominated performances in BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story.
