F1 has become as much a celebrity hotspot as a motorsport championship, with A-listers regularly supporting their favorite drivers. Kim Kardashian has cheered for Lewis Hamilton, Brad Pitt has backed Charles Leclerc, while Dutch royals have rallied behind Max Verstappen. Adele and her teenage son have joined the sport's growing celebrity fanbase, using race weekends as a meaningful way to bond.
While visiting the McLaren F1 Team's Technology Centre, Adele revealed that F1 had unexpectedly become one of the strongest bonds she shares with her teenage son. His love of karting drew her into the sport, turning race weekends into a shared ritual. The visit also gave the Grammy winner an access-all-areas look inside the championship-winning outfit.
"We like argue about drivers," Adele laughed, proving that every devoted F1 household has its own paddock politics. The conversation later shifted from rivalries to first impressions as she toured Zak Brown's office and McLaren's futuristic headquarters. Adele said arriving at the facility felt like landing in space. Then came the dangerous part: allowing a Grammy winner near racing equipment.
"I will not ask where," Oscar Piastri delivered the perfect punchline after Adele proudly revealed she reached 108 mph on McLaren's racing simulator during her visit to the McLaren F1 Team. Guided by the Australian driver as seen in the McLaren video, the Grammy winner embraced virtual speed before quickly confessing she still prefers a far gentler 40 mph on real roads.
Adele may be famous for her vocal range, but her sporting range is quietly becoming just as versatile.
Adele's sporting passions beyond F1
Adele's sporting loyalties began long before F1 entered the picture. Raised in North London, the singer has remained a devoted Tottenham Hotspur supporter, regularly wearing the club's colors and backing England during major international tournaments. Stadium anthems, it seems, fit comfortably alongside chart-topping ballads.
Basketball eventually earned a place on Adele's calendar after her move to Los Angeles. Frequent courtside appearances at Los Angeles Lakers games, often alongside Rich Paul, have made her a familiar face during the NBA season. Playoff drama now competes with encore performances for her attention.
Whether it is football, basketball, or F1, Adele rarely follows a sport halfway. Each has become part of her life for different reasons, from lifelong loyalty to family and personal connections. Her latest passion, however, may be the most meaningful because it also brought her closer to her teenage son.
