Stranger Things is only a two-hour part away from its final wave of goodbye. On cue, the secrets behind the state of Hawkins and the history of The Abyss stand slightly, but impactfully exposed.

A few, perhaps, intentional slips have created a scenario that will familiarize Stranger Things' last episode.

1. Vecna's true origins

It has been discussed that Vecna's creation is yet to be revealed on the show. Come the final episode, Matt Duffer had assured through his Variety interview on December 25, that Henry Creel's connection with the Mind Flayer will throw the anticipated light.

"Those are the two areas that I think are the most revelatory or impactful as we move into the final episode," Duffer has told Variety. However, for Stranger Things: The First Shadow attendees, Henry Creel's encounter with the Mind Flayer in the 1950s is already a known fact.

2. A second final Upside Down battle

Season 5's Volume 1 has already dealt with a full-blown fight that revealed Will Byers as a Sorcerer. However, Netflix's recent merch release, a t-shirt called Mission Upside Down, has hinted at a battle not only between Hawkins and Vecna, but Vecna against the Mind Flayer.

Moreover, actor Noah Schnapp has hinted at a redemption for the so long antagonist of the series as well. Upon TV Guide's question to name the most misunderstood villain of the series, Schnapp's answer came down to Vecna before being abruptly stopped by his co-star.

3. Aforementioned epilogue

The creators have also discussed not wanting to rush into the beloved show's ending, with Variety in October. They even revealed that the final episode may have a 30 to 45-minute step back at the end, an epilogue to bid all characters a farewell.

4. Eleven's dilemma

Eleven has evidently been one of the main standpoints of the show. As season 5 comes to a close, her sister Kaali, or 008's appearance and their conversations have sparked speculations about Eleven's fate.

008 and Eleven's silent conversations had hinted at their underlying plan that might overwrite Operation Beanstalk. Understanding that there might arise other exploiters of their powers, Eleven might agree with Kaali and stay back at the bridge, not to return to Hawkins.

5. Major character death, finally

With the rising complaints about the Duffer Brothers not maintaining high enough stakes, the creators have been hinting at a beloved character's demise. As the show nears its end, the creator's own justifications and certain frames from a trailer leak have hinted at Steve Harrington's possible death in the finale.
