Aly & AJ Share Their Nostalgia- Induced Disney Mount Rushmore

Apr 28, 2026, 1:19 AM CUT

Two of Disney’s beloved millennial-era favourites, Aly & AJ, have now stepped straight into a fresh wave of nostalgia by naming their personal Disney Mount Rushmore. As Disney has long stood as the launchpad for some of television’s most adored teen idols, sitcom queens, and pop culture powerhouses, debates over who truly ruled its golden era have never stayed quiet for long. But among that glittering hit list, who has actually found a place on Aly & AJ’s own Rushmore list?

In a recent conversation with StyleCaster, Aly & AJ unveiled their Disney Mount Rushmore as Raven-Symoné, Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, and Selena Gomez. In a classy twist, the sister duo, themselves beloved 2000s Disney Channel veterans known for Phil of the Future, chart-ready hits, and fan-favourite films, left their own names off the monument. Instead, they saluted the four powerhouse women whose reign through That's So Raven, Hannah Montana, Lizzie McGuire, and Wizards of Waverly Place helped define the golden 2000s Disney era for an entire generation.

From nostalgia-soaked applause to full agreement in the comments, the response has made one thing clear, this list hit home for a huge part of the fandom.

Perhaps their towering viewership numbers explain exactly why these four made the cut. Wizards of Waverly Place still holds Disney Channel’s biggest series finale with 9.8 million viewers, while Hannah Montana regularly delivered powerhouse ratings and closed with 6.2 million viewers. That's So Raven broke network barriers with its long-running success, while Lizzie McGuire helped build the blueprint for Disney’s tween empire.

Meanwhile, many fans would agree that Aly & AJ themselves deserved a place on that Rushmore after carving their own Disney-era legacy.

Aly & AJ’s own era in Disney

The duo had built their Disney rise differently from many of the network’s solo icons, arriving as a duo while still creating standout individual moments. Aly Michalka led Phil of the Future as Keely Teslow, helping turn the time-travel comedy into a cult favourite during its 2004 to 2006 run. The sisters then scored a major Disney Channel Original Movie triumph with Cow Belles, whose premiere drew 5.8 million viewers and ranked among the channel’s biggest movie launches of its time.

Beyond television, the duo also delivered one of Disney’s strongest musical runs, writing much of their own pop-rock material when few acts on the network did the same. Their debut album 'Into the Rush' went Platinum, while 'Potential Breakup Song' exploded into a crossover hit before finding a second viral life years later. In one of Disney’s biggest what-ifs, the sisters were even offered the lead role in Hannah Montana before the part ultimately went to Miley Cyrus.

And while Aly & AJ’s Disney Rushmore has stirred nostalgia, it feels the sisters quite humbly left themselves out despite deserving a spot too.

Which name on Aly & AJ’s Disney Rushmore list do you agree with the most? Let us know in the comments.
