Ariana Grande has officially reopened one of her most iconic musical eras after releasing 'Knew Better Part Two' for the 10th anniversary of ‘Dangerous Woman’. Long celebrated for its irresistible rhythms, dark pop melodies, emotionally raw lyrics, and powerhouse vocals, ‘Dangerous Woman’ still remains one of the defining chapters of Grande’s career. And now, nearly a decade later, the singer has once again pulled fans back into that era, sending Arianators straight into emotional meltdown mode.

Released on May 20, ‘Knew Better Part Two’ is a continuation of ‘Knew Better / Future Boy’, the penultimate track from Ariana Grande’s third studio album ‘Dangerous Woman’. Grande first shared the song on SoundCloud in 2016, shortly after the album’s release, where it quickly became a fan-favourite among Arianators. Built around the era’s iconic trap-pop production, ‘Dangerous Woman’ has since crossed over 25 billion global streams and 23 million units in sales, while also reaching No. 1 across 12 countries.

Shortly after dropping as part of the album’s 10-year anniversary capsule, ‘Knew Better Part Two’ instantly shot to No. 1 on worldwide social media trends, while pushing ‘Dangerous Woman’ past the massive 9 billion streams milestone on Spotify.

Beyond the ‘Dangerous Woman’ nostalgia, Grande’s schedule still looks packed with major projects ahead. Later this November, the singer-actress will appear alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in Focker In-Law before returning to the theatre in 2027 for the West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George, where she will star opposite Jonathan Bailey. Meanwhile, following the release of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ back in 2024, Grande is also preparing to launch the Eternal Sunshine Tour on June 6 in Oakland.

However, Grande still seems far from done, with her eighth album already preparing to take over headlines.

Ariana Grande’s ‘Petal’ era is already taking shape

Ariana Grande is officially set to release her eighth studio album, ‘Petal’ on July 31 through BabyDoll/Republic Records. Co-written and produced alongside longtime collaborator Ilya, the project will launch with its lead single, ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me,’ on May 29, with legendary pop producer Max Martin also attached to the track. The album additionally marks Grande’s first major music era since her Oscar-nominated performance as Glinda in the Wicked films.

Although much of ‘Petal’ still remains under wraps, Grande has already teased the album as “a little bit feral.” According to the singer, the record explores breaking away from negative attachments, inner struggles, and external voices that no longer serve her. She also described the writing process as an emotional experiment designed to let listeners interpret the songs through their own personal experiences.

And while ‘Dangerous Woman’ continues pulling fans back into its nostalgic chaos even after a decade, Grande already seems ready to open an entirely new emotional chapter with ‘Petal’.
