Feeling left out in group activities seems to be something that persists even in adulthood. Matthew Koma, however, does not believe the same, perhaps only when it is Ashley Tisdale confessing about it.
Hilary Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, took a break from singing and took to Photoshop, targeting a very niche audience. Koma's Instagram story on January 6, in an all-black outfit, looked uncannily similar to Ashley Tisdale's The Cut essay's cover.
The picture, however, could easily be understood as a retaliation to Tisdale's essay, Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group. The mom group in question is one with which she had been connected to actress Hilary Duff.
"When You’re The Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth," Koma titled the picture, mimicking The Cut's essay. The essay, on the other hand, talked about how she had, high school-reminiscently, been excluded from the group.
Ashley Tisdale's confession, however, comes from a place of some experience, at least.
What happened to Ashley Tisdale's mom group?
The High School Musical actress seems not to have been able to entirely shake high school off. Ashley Tisdale joined Hilary Duff's mom group in 2021. The actress confirmed being invited by the latter herself, as per her interview with InStyle in 2022.
The group had since then shown a lot of activity, with mom-only trips and baby group clicks. By 2026, however, Tisdale realized the collective was "too high" for her. She left via a text message on the group's chat, as per her The Cut essay.
Ashley Tisdale has been cleaning up her inbox for the new year. Matthrew Koma, on the other hand, refuses to sit silent about things even remotely related to Hilary Duff.
