In honor of the 25th anniversary of HBO's iconic series Band of Brothers, HBO Max is launching a documentary titled Band of Brothers: Legacy on September 9th. The 9th episode of Band of Brothers first aired on September 9, 2001 two days before 9/11. 

The documentary Band of Brothers: Legacy promises "an intimate look at the series' production and enduring impact" per HBO Max, and it will "recount the legacy of the groundbreaking series that has done so much to ensure the story of Easy Company, its sacrifices and a chapter of American History are not forgotten as public understanding of the heroics of the Greatest Generation grew and was strengthened."

The Legacy documentary includes new interviews with series starsDamian Lewis,Ron Livingston,Michael Cudlitz, Capt. Dale Dye, USMC (Ret.), David Schwimmer and many more who "offer personal reflections and behind-the-scenes stories," says the streamer, as they "revisit the experience of making the series and explore its lasting cultural resonance." 

Band of Brothers: Legacy is from Tom Hanks' Playtone production company (he produced the original miniseries and starred as one of the featured men in the fifth episode; there was a Band of Brothers documentary sort of on HBO and from Hanks. We Stand Alone: The Men of Easy Company was a companion to the mini-series featuring a documentary style interview on camera with the remaining men in Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division on how they were able to stay together despite suffering immense losses. 

The documentary is directed by Chase Millsap, himself a former Special Forces Green Beret officer, produced by Hanks and Gary Goetzman and written and produced by Kirk Saduski, Richard Arlook and Sean Mullin.
