Take a look at pretty much any "all-time great HBO series" rankings and you are almost guaranteed to find Band Of Brothers nestled within it. It absolutely belongs there, as the 2001 mini-series (which was executive produced by the duo of Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg) is simply an utterly brilliant look at World War II that belongs standing on the shoulders of Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan. And if you were someone who adored that series, who watched and re-watched it countless times over the years, I bring you good news: a brand new feature documentary on the 25th anniversary of Band Of Brothers is set to be added to HBO Max, under the name of "Band Of Brothers: Legacy".

This appears to be quite the treat for any devoted followers of the seminal mini-series – especially with the inclusion of fresh interview footage from such luminaries as David Schwimmer, Damian Lewis, Ron Livingston, and Michael Cudlitz. The documentary itself is directed by Chase Millsap, a man who formerly served as a Green Beret with the United States Army, and it will be officially available for you to view on HBO Max beginning September 9 th – barely a week from now! And more importantly, the date is just ahead of the 25th anniversary of the actual original show airing, (September 11, but if it means anything, two days prior, as the documentary notes).

Seriously, the release serves as the perfect little excuse to revisit this true wartime drama, and discover an entirely new perspective on not only the actual events displayed, but of how this marvelous production came to be made. Now the burning question remains –who can we send an official petition to to try and secure documentaries regarding The Pacific, and subsequently Masters Of The Air?.
