Genre-defying is a title Beyoncé has easily earned through her years in the music industry. In fact, it is as easy as slipping on a Valentine's Day jewel for her to shift genres.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and with Beyoncé’s set in stone, three-year trajectory, so is ACT III. With 2022's 'Renaissance' being a focus on dance music, 'Cowboy Carter' (2024) exploring black roots in country music, there has been heavy speculation about ACT III being a rock album.

There has, however, not been any official announcement of new music, other than a Valentine's Day jewelry collection that is pitched as sensuous and rock and roll. While the genre is clearly an adjective for the jewelry, it might not be too presumptuous to see the formation of a strategy for Beyoncé's next act.

"A little rock n roll with a whole lotta s---", reads the description on her website shop. The accessory in question is part of her upcoming Beymine collection. Falling in line with the Rock 'n' Roll aesthetic, she has fashioned a leather strap choker with a silver pendant hanging at its centre.

With her history of genre-bending and hint-throwing, to think ACT III will be rock 'n' roll-inspired might not be that far-fetched.

Why Beyoncé's ACT III could be rock 'n' roll

The three-part act is already widely known to be Beyoncé's spin on music genres she has rarely dabbled with before, at least on a full-scale. In addition, the record-breaking singer has been throwing hints reminiscent of her 'Lemonade' Era to many fans, where she has posted a picture sniffing a lemon, months before the actual album.

The hints come in the form of paying homage to rock legends on Instagram, to turning her Levi's denim ad from horse riding in the sun to motor biking through dingy roads. Beyoncé is already on a roll with her three-act project; she might as well add some rock to it.
