Beyoncé Is Set to Attend the Met Gala for the First Time in a Decade

Vogue officially confirmed that Beyoncé will return to the Met Gala, now just a week away, marking her first appearance since 2016. Between 2008 and 2016, Beyoncé ruled the carpet in Givenchy, most memorably the sheer, pearl-drenched 2015 gown. And now, fans will soon get to see Queen Bey in her Met Gala form yet again.
Vogue has confirmed that Beyoncé will not simply attend the Met Gala on May 4, but return as co-chair alongside Anna Wintour, Venus Williams, and Nicole Kidman. She will also make history as the first Black woman to serve as both Honorary Chair and Co-Chair.
Set at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the evening will orbit the theme 'Costume Art' with a 'Fashion Is Art' dress code. The spring exhibition explores the relationship between fashion and the human body, housed in the new Condé M. Nast Galleries.
Industry observers from Galerie Magazine and Vogue anticipate Beyoncé abandoning traditional gowns in favor of sculptural statements. Architectural silhouettes, metallic breastplates, and experimental 3D-printed elements are already circulating as possibilities.
Speculation around collaborators is equally charged. Olivier Rousteing remains a natural contender given his history with Beyoncé, while Schiaparelli under Daniel Roseberry offers surrealist theatrics aligned with the theme. Archival Yves Saint Laurent or Christian Lacroix couture could surface, finished with statement jewels by Lorraine Schwartz; the speculation and anticipation only increase with every passing day.
Alongside Beyoncé’s presence, the Met Gala 2026 is expected to assemble a constellation of headline-making names.
Who else will attend the Met Gala 2026 alongside Beyoncé?
Beyond Beyoncé, the Met Gala assembles a formidable confirmed roster. Co-chairs Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams join Anna Wintour, while honorary chairs Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos elevate the stakes. Zoë Kravitz and Anthony Vaccarello anchor the host committee, joined by LISA, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Angela Bassett, Adut Akech, and more.
The anticipated arrivals only heighten the spectacle. Kim Kardashian is widely expected, while Harry Styles circles the carpet amid new music buzz. Jay-Z may appear in support, with Kendall Jenner, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and Zendaya all looming as high-impact possibilities. All that speculation, paired with Beyoncé’s return, only deepens the intrigue surrounding Met Gala 2026.
