Billy Ray Cyrus is one proud father after Miley Cyrus was announced as one of the latest stars set to receive a coveted spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Reacting to the news, Billy Ray shared an emotional message celebrating the milestone while promising to show up early for the occasion.

“@mileycyrus I am coming in early to clean and shine the sidewalks before the big day,” Billy Ray wrote via Instagram on May 9 while celebrating his daughter’s latest achievement. “It’s only once in a lifetime, a Daddy from Flatwoods, Kentucky gets to see his little girl … evolve into an actress into a full-fledged rock star ⭐️.”

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed last week that Miley Cyrus will officially receive her Hollywood Walk of Fame star during a ceremony in Los Angeles on May 22. The recognition marks yet another major career milestone for the Grammy-winning singer, whose career evolved from her Disney Channel beginnings into one of pop music’s most successful and influential acts. From Hannah Montana to chart-topping hits like 'Flowers', Cyrus has steadily built one of the most recognizable careers in entertainment.

“Time for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!!! Can’t make this up. Art … imitating life … imitating art once again in the Cyrus family.” Billy Ray reflected on the surreal nature of the moment, adding in his Instagram post;The comment felt especially fitting considering Miley Cyrus’ fictional alter ego, Hannah Montana, once received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in a 2008 episode of the Disney series.

But Billy Ray’s emotional message also arrives after years of public ups and downs between father and daughter.

Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus’ relationship appears to have found healing

Following the divorce of Miley Cyrus’ parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, the father-daughter relationship occasionally appeared strained in public. Cyrus herself previously spoke candidly about their complicated dynamic, even joking during her appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman that she had inherited “the narcissism” from her father.

“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years...Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.” Miley Cyrus wrote at the time on her Instagram story. However, signs of reconciliation became clearer over the past year.

In a March 2025 statement, the Disney star acknowledged their history while emphasizing how much healing had happened. With Billy Ray now openly celebrating one of the 'Flowers' singer’s biggest career honors, the emotional moment appears to reflect a much warmer chapter for the Cyrus family.
