Williams will serve as executive producers alongside directors Eduardo Sánchez, Daniel Myrick, and Gregg Hale. The move marks a notable departure from earlier sequels that excluded much of the original team.

Past entries like Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 and the 2016 sequel were developed without significant involvement from the original creators. That history led to public frustration, as the studio continued to expand the franchise while those who built its foundation remained sidelined. The reboot appears to directly address those tensions.

The project is being overseen by Dylan Clark as part of a collaboration between Lionsgate, Blumhouse Productions, and Atomic Monster. By embedding the original voices into the production, the reboot aims to balance fresh ideas with the authenticity that made the first film a phenomenon.
