Time may pass, but it does not always heal, contrary to popular belief. Britney Spears, despite being on that very journey, cannot help but feel when her wounds hurt, but she does seem weary of life.

Britney Spears first spoke about the differences she had with her father in 2021. Although she was successfully able to end a 13-year-long repressive conservatorship, the impact on Spears has lived on, but so has she. Taking to Instagram, the 44-year-old pop star expressed her gratitude for life.

"I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive," she wrote, "with how my family treated me once in my life." Spears also revealed that despite the attempts at reconciliation, her family seems not have taken accountability for what had ensued.

While Spears does throw sarcastic jabs towards her family from time to time, she also revealed her persistent fright because of them, through the post. The singer's confession stemmed from her reflection on human connection and how being excluded could have irreversible impacts.

Spears' Instagram is otherwise decorated with things she loves, and while performing is one of them, it stands far from the stage.

Britney Spears' next performance

In October 2018, Britney Spears delivered what later became her last performance for the time being. Recent reminiscing on her Instagram, however, have ignited a bout of anticipation for fans. Reflecting tenderly about her wishes to perform, Spears revealed she might be taking up stages in the UK and Australia in the near future.

The anticipation, however, seems to be restricted to these borders only. The singer staunchly declared she will not be performing in the US.

Britney Spears balances her stardom with healing, while letting herself feel the scabs of her past wounds as well. Taking one sway at a time, there may soon come a day when the pop star lights up the stage once again.
