Caitlin Clark Stats: Did the Fever Guard Perform Her Best vs. New York?

Caitlin Clark walked onto the court Saturday night carrying tired legs from a back-to-back stretch, and it showed early. What followed was a game that tested her more than the scoreboard suggests.
Caitlin Clark finished with 17 points on 5-for-14 shooting, adding 7 assists and 2 rebounds in 26 minutes as the Fever routed the Liberty 108-88 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
But it’s not the points that really stand out. It’s the 7 turnovers that she had, which is a high number considering how dominant her team was overall.

Clark could not get into a groove for much of the game, shooting only 2 out of 8 on three-point shots and needing to take all five of her free throw attempts to put up 17 points, far below her season average of 20.8 points per game.
The Fever won the game without having to score most of their points by Clark. Kelsey Mitchell scored 33 points and shot 10-14 in the process. This was her tenth consecutive game scoring at least 20 points. Meanwhile, Myisha Hines-Allen led a 28-12 run in the third quarter.
Indiana was down by as much as 13 points during the first quarter until Indiana got active on defense for the rest of the game. In the first half of the game, New York scored 56 percent from three-point range, but failed to maintain that efficiency due to improved defense from Indiana.
This win brought Indiana’s record up to 16-10 and put them at the top of the Eastern Conference, giving them their seventh win in their last ten games.
This was not the only time that Clark made the news this weekend. It seems that Clark's competitiveness runs way past basketball courts.
Caitlin Clark Picks A Side In The World Cup Final
Clark made it known how she would root before the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, and it had nothing to do with the WNBA.
"I'm cheering for Argentina," Clark said in a quote graphic. "I want Messi, so I'll be cheering hard."
She is picking Argentina, which lines up well with Messi's tournament performance. Entering the final, Messi had eight goals and four assists from seven matches, making him one of the contenders for the Golden Boot as Argentina scored 19 goals en route to the final.
Argentina is chasing a feat no men's national team has managed since Brazil won back-to-back titles in 1958 and 1962, and this squad has leaned on grit through a difficult knockout stretch.
Spain presents a serious obstacle, though. Nineteen-year-old Lamine Yamal has powered a young Spanish side that outscored opponents 13-1 since an opening draw, including a 2-0 semifinal win over France, backed by a defense that has conceded just once all tournament.
