As excitement builds among fans over the upcoming Masters of the Universe, actress Camila Mendes has talked about one of the influences behind her version of Teela. In a recent interview, Mendes said she was inspired by a popular sci-fi heroine to prepare for the role. Her remarks provide fresh insight into her work, bringing the iconic character to life and the creative influences that helped shape her performance. 

“I feel like I was a little inspired by Daisy Ridley's performance in Star Wars. I think that was one that I went to like observe,” she said.

She then added, “because I felt like there were similarities between those characters. Just sort of this like independence, like she's like kind of on her own and how she carries that.”

Teela is one of the major characters in Masters of the Universe. She is a close friend of Prince Adam, who turns into He-Man. In most versions of the story, she is a skilled warrior, and her job is to help protect the kingdom of Eternia. 

Due to her bravery, leadership skills, and prowess in warfare, she is considered one of the most significant heroines within the series. Teela is an independent woman warrior who assists He-Man in fighting the army of Skeletor in the comic books. For the past decades, the character has become a recognizable name within the world of Masters of the Universe. 

Camila Mendes will portray Teela in the coming movies based on the series. Little information regarding the storyline has been shared, but Teela will definitely play a very significant role. She will also feature prominently among the unfolding events on Eternia.

Now, even though Teela and Rey are from different franchises, they have a lot of defining traits. 

Which shared qualities and character traits connect Teela and Rey? 

Teela and Rey are both characters whose adventures revolve heavily around the search for information about themselves and their role within the broader scheme of things.
