Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson stepped back into the spotlight together, five decades after Charlie's Angels first graced television screens in 1976. The reunion was not just a nostalgic moment but a full-circle celebration of a series that rewrote the rules for women on television. The angels have clearly not lost their wings.

Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson reunited at the 2026 Paley Honors Spring Gala in New York on May 14, accepting a tribute on behalf of the entire Charlie's Angels family. The evening marked exactly 50 years since the iconic series first took flight on television. Half a century later, the two reminded everyone precisely why this show still holds its cultural ground.

"Kate and I were so lucky to attend and accept this on behalf of our Charlie's Angels family, continuing in our celebration of 50 years since the launch of the series," Smith captured the moment beautifully on Instagram.

She then added, "Grateful doesn't begin to encompass how I feel to have been and continue to be a part of that legacy. Thank you to everyone!" Fifty years later, the gratitude is clearly as genuine as the legacy itself.

This Gala appearance was not the duo's only anniversary outing. In April 2026, Smith, Jackson, and Cheryl Ladd had already reunited at PaleyFest, where Smith described the show as groundbreaking, noting it featured three women chasing danger instead of being rescued from it. Adding to the excitement, Sony Pictures is reportedly in early development on a new Charlie's Angels film, with screenwriter Pete Chiarelli attached and Drew Barrymore's production company rumoured to be involved.

While the original angels celebrate a golden legacy, the spotlight is also turning toward those who built it and those who are now gone.

The cast behind Charlie's Angels and its enduring ensemble

Charlie's Angels rotated its core cast across five seasons. Kate Jackson played the sharp and level-headed Sabrina Duncan for seasons one through three, while Farrah Fawcett portrayed the magnetic Jill Munroe in season one before departing. Jaclyn Smith remained as Kelly Garrett across all five seasons, the only angel present throughout.

Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack, and Tanya Roberts each joined in later seasons. Fawcett passed away in 2009, David Doyle in 1997, John Forsythe in 2010, and Roberts in 2021.

The show followed three former police officers turned private investigators working for the unseen Charles Townsend, known only as Charlie, voiced by Forsythe, with Doyle's Bosley serving as their on-ground contact. Running for five seasons and 115 episodes on ABC from 1976 to 1981, the series became a cultural phenomenon. Smith and Jackson's reunion is a fitting testament to a show that dared women to step out of the mould, chase danger, and never look back.
