The album title is no accident. 'Brown' is a backronym standing for Break Rules Only When Necessary, a philosophy that suits Brown rather well. Four previously released singles appear on the tracklist: 'Obvious,' 'Fallin' 'Holy Blindfold' and 'It Depends.' Even S**** Red jumped onto Instagram to express her excitement about being included, calling the experience "tight" and sending love to Brown publicly, which added a fun layer to the rollout.

The timing of 'Brown' is no coincidence either. The album arrives just weeks before Brown hits North American stadiums alongside Usher for the much-anticipated R&B Tour. Spanning 33 dates, the run opens in Denver on June 26 and wraps in Tampa Bay on December 11. Cities on the itinerary include Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Atlanta and Miami, essentially covering every major market across the continent.
