As per Deadline, Simon Sebag Montefiore, the acclaimed historian behind the upcoming Young Stalin biopic, has scripted a gripping feature on the tense 1942 Moscow summit between Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin, for Matt Reeves' 6th & Idaho Motion Picture Company.

Drawing from Montefiore's deep expertise—including two Stalin biographies, a Romanov dynasty book, and three novels on twentieth-century Russia—the screenplay captures a few fateful days where global destiny teetered on the edge. Montefiore views it as the pinnacle of his lifelong Stalin obsession.

The film will attempt to paint an intimate portrait of history's two most commanding leaders colliding amid worldwide chaos. Their high-stakes encounter, pivotal to the Allied victory three years on, explores raw power dynamics through these larger-than-life figures.

6th & Idaho, founded by The Batman director Matt Reeves, is spearheading development, with producing partner Lynn Harris—a former Warner Bros. executive—calling it a "wonderful story and script." This historical drama adds to Reeves' diverse slate alongside his Batman projects.
