The age of streaming may be a bane in many ways, but it is proving to be a gift for old Hollywood enthusiasts. Paramount plays right in as it vies for the upper hand, like Francis Coppola's gangster once did for dominance.

Francis Ford Coppola had spun the story of a soldier returning not to home, but to a gang-torn underbelly of New York, more so, dominated by his own family. Several decades later, The Godfather is being brought to Paramount+ on February 1, 2026, as per several outlets.

In addition, not just The Godfather, but The Godfather, Part II, and The Godfather, Part III, are also included in the package. The gift, however, comes with Coppola's director's cut titled The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, which is also making it to the platform.

Each of these films was released in 1972, 1974, 1990, and 2020, respectively. The Godfather's epic storytelling, deep characters, and revolutionary filmmaking are what make this addition to Paramount a festival.

However, as if the world naturally balances the extremities, even if they are positive, The Godfather was not a full circle success.

The black sheep of The Godfather Trilogy

While not a financial flop, grossing over $136 million, The Godfather, Part III was a critical disappointment. It has been widely seen as inferior to the first two masterpieces, owing to their larger-than-life success and intricacy.

Particularly criticized was Sofia Coppola's performance as Mary Corleone, though the film still earned Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. The director's cut, while not propelling the third part to the first two's stature, somewhat healed The Godfather, Part III's hurt.

Originally primarily produced by Paramount, The Godfather now comes back home to the company's streaming platform. With all three parts gracing Paramount +, old Hollywood enthusiasts are set to be pulled back in time.
