With its popularity getting as warmed up as its name, Heated Rivalry has planted well enough a flag on HBO's hilltop. With the first season an undeniable hit, there seems to be more than one other season signed for the show.

Heated Rivalry, the currently most-watched show on Crave, has made a promise for the near future. Already greenlit for a second season, the actors of the show have been signed for a third season as well, as per GQ.

Season two of the show is aiming for a mid-2026 kickstart to production, as per creator Jacob Tierney. Anticipation, hence, builds for an early 2027 release of the revamp.

Heated Rivalry has become the second-largest show to attract first-time watchers on HBO, as per Jason Butler (via The Wrap). With GQ's confirmation of the actors' so-far three-season-long commitment, there stands more to be anticipated.

Surprisingly, Heated Rivalry's success comes not just for itself, but is shared across the hockey rink as well.

Heated Rivalry's handshake with hockey

Heated Rivalry largely centers on two things: the queer experience and hockey. Of the two, the show has become a magnet not just by itself, but also for newfound hockey enthusiasts.

The National Hockey League, in fact, stands witness to the blow-up. With its history spanning just over a century, the boom in spectators matches the show's temperature.

"This might be the most unique driver for creating new fans," the NHL representative told The Hollywood Reporter. With two more seasons under its belt, the attention on Heated Rivalry stands intact.
