Country music star Clint Black has canceled his scheduled July 3 performance at Pearl River Resort Casino in Choctaw, Mississippi. His management confirmed the cancellation in a statement posted on social media, apologising to fans and assuring them that full refunds will be available through their original point of purchase.

The cancellation follows a medical emergency that resulted in Black being hospitalised on Sunday with infected tonsils requiring emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment. The 64-year-old Grammy-winning singer is reported to be recovering well and is expected to be discharged later this week.

The canceled show was part of Black's ongoing Back on the Blacktop Tour. His next scheduled performance remains July 9 in Minden, Nevada, according to his official tour calendar.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Black's representatives confirmed that the country singer required emergency IV antibiotics after being diagnosed with infected tonsils. While the publication noted that he will miss his Mississippi concert, his team indicated that the current expectation is for him to return to the road once he has recovered.

The health update also comes just weeks after Black reflected on the challenges that have shaped both his personal life and nearly four-decade music career, offering fans additional perspective on the resilience he has spoken about throughout the years.
