Dan Levy is set for a comeback, bringing his signature witty, awkward humor back to television very soon. The filmmaker took a break from scripted series after the success of Schitt's Creek and has been earning critical praise for his recent films like One Day This Kid. Now, he is returning to his original roots with a series filled with mistakes that even David Rose finds entertaining.

Dan Levy is making a clear comeback with Big Mistakes in 2026, a new crime-comedy series that places family dysfunction directly inside organized crime. The Netflix show follows two deeply incapable siblings blackmailed into criminal schemes, positioning Levy’s wit inside escalating chaos, a trope he is quite used to.

Co-creating the show with Rachel Sennott, Big Mistakes marks Levy's first scripted series under his Netflix overall deal after Good Grief. Not only is he creating the eight-episode project, but he also writing as well as acting in the series.

Big Mistakes will also bring back the dynamic of the sibling duo from Schitt's Creek. Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Emmy-winner likened the duo to Alexis and David Rose, merely operating in a different show.

Who else is involved in Big Mistakes?

Dan Levy does not arrive alone, thanks to the talented cast of the series. Taylor Ortega arrives with her experience in projects such as Welcome to Flatch, The Four Seasons, and Another Simple Favor. Laurie Metcalf joins as well, carrying Lady Bird, Scream 2, Roseanne, and Hacks into the mix.

The cast is amplified by the inclusion Jack Innanen as Max and Boran Kuzum as Yusuf, who promise complications. Abby Quinn as Natalie and Elizabeth Perkins as Annette deepen the familial imbalance. Jacob Gutierrez as Tare, Joe Barbara as Mike, and Mark Ivanir as Ivan ensure Big Mistakes never rests on a single name.
