Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are bringing double the muscle to Amazon MGM Studios’ new action comedy. They previously clashed as estranged brothers in See and shared the Dune universe. And this time, the collision promises fewer prophecies and far more property damage.

Amazon MGM Studios is positioning The Wrecking Crew as a star-driven, R-rated buddy action-comedy anchored by Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa. The project leans on their contrasting screen personas, using disciplined force and reckless impulse to revive the chemistry they already share.

Set in Hawaii, the story follows estranged half-brothers forced together after their father’s mysterious death. Jonny, a reckless cop played by Jason Momoa, clashes with James, Dave Bautista’s disciplined Navy SEAL, during a murder investigation.

Ángel Manuel Soto, of Blue Beetle fame, hails as the director, while Jonathan Tropper has worked on the script. The supporting cast includes Morena Baccarin, Claes Bang as the antagonist, Jacob Batalon, Stephen Root, and Temuera Morrison, grounding the chaos with seasoned character work.

The Wrecking Crew premieres worldwide on Prime Video on January 28, 2026. Although it is important to note that the rating reflects strong bloody violence, pervasive language, and drug use, signaling an adult-skewing action comedy.

That friction surfaces in a rain-soaked scene beside a police car. Dave Bautista projects disciplined intensity as Jason Momoa radiates uncontrolled, wild energy. The moment visually contrasts the temperament after an implied high-impact action sequence.

Later stills bring the brothers together, reading a note mid-investigation. Another isolates Jason Momoa on a phone call, heightening narrative tension. These images collectively promise an explosive blend of action, humor, and brotherly conflict.
