After 15 years, eight albums, and enough global hits to make most pop careers look painfully underfed, Ed Sheeran is apparently ready to give his music a new home. The British hitmaker closed his mammoth Warner Music chapter earlier this year, but retirement was clearly never hiding behind that goodbye. Now, Sheeran is reportedly preparing to launch his next era with another music industry heavyweight.

Sheeran is set to sign a long-term record deal with Interscope Records, although the number of albums covered under the arrangement remains unknown, as reported by sources to The Hollywood Reporter. The move arrives months after the singer confirmed his Warner departure in a newsletter, expressing enormous love and gratitude for everything they had achieved together. After a 15-year partnership that began in 2011 and delivered eight albums, Sheeran is finally moving one of pop music’s biggest catalogs into a new chapter.

“I leave the company with SO much love and gratitude for everything we have achieved together.” Sheeran wrote in a newsletter.

And Interscope is hardly welcoming a lightweight through its doors, per The Hollywood Reporter. Sheeran recently ranked sixth on Spotify’s all-time artist list, commands around 83 million monthly listeners, and saw his years-long Mathematics Tour become one of the highest-grossing concert tours ever.

While recent albums 'Subtract', 'Autumn Variations', and 'Play' have failed to match the chart-shaking reign of Multiply and Divide, a catalog armed with monsters like ‘Shape of You,’ ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ and ‘Bad Habits’ means Sheeran is hardly entering his new era quietly.

And while Sheeran prepares to change his label address, the singer is hardly waiting backstage for his next era to begin.

Ed Sheeran is taking ‘Play’ around the world before his next chapter

Sheeran is currently deep into his massive Loop Tour, supporting his eighth studio album, ‘Play,’ with the global run scheduled to continue through December 2026. After taking the show through Oceania and Latin America, the singer is now storming across North America, with upcoming stops including Las Vegas on July 18, Santa Clara on July 25, Seattle on August 1, Toronto from August 20 to 22, and East Rutherford on September 4 and 5. The final stretch will send him back through Latin America, with shows scheduled in Santiago, São Paulo, and Mexico City before the tour wraps in December.

And Sheeran is not exactly arriving with a quiet little acoustic set tucked under his arm. The massive show runs through more than 30 songs, pulling from his career-spanning arsenal with hits including ‘Castle on the Hill,’ ‘Shivers,’ ‘Photograph,’ ‘Perfect,’ ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ ‘Shape of You,’ and ‘Bad Habits,’ alongside newer tracks such as ‘Sapphire,’ ‘Azizam,’ and ‘Old Phone.’

And while Sheeran keeps stadiums screaming through the Loop Tour, his reported Interscope move suggests the next era is already warming up backstage.
