One Piece fans are having a ball with the latest manga chapters, finally getting to see Luffy go up against one of the main villains of the story. Eichiiro Oda is dishing out knockout after knockout with successive new revelations about the past and about Imu’s powers. While the readers are hooked on one of the most pivotal stages of the story, a slight hiccup has led Oda to apologize to the fans.
One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda sends a message to the fans. He begs for pardon because the next manga volume will cost more than the previous one. The 115th volume of One Piece is supposed to be a little more expensive this time. It will cost an additional 20 yen, as Oda stated in a message that can be viewed on X (Twitter).
But he makes it clear that this will only happen once. The pricing for the subsequent issue will be the same as it was for earlier volumes. One Piece typically has ten chapters per volume. Twelve chapters were sometimes jammed into a single volume in the past. However, this time, Oda had to fit more chapters into one volume, which led to a price increase. There has never been a situation like this.
This makes sense given the manga's ongoing plot and the speed at which it is currently being presented. This indicates that the volume will require more ink to print because it is substantially thicker. The 20 yen are required because of this slight change. With this statement, the author expresses regret and asks the admirers to forgive him.
Eichiiro Oda even made a joke about the increased prices, along with apologizing for the same.
Eichiiro Oda quips about the increased manga price
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, made a joke about how fans might have to "clean the bathtub" to make extra money so they could buy the newest volume of manga. He went on to say that he "absolutely had to include" the additional chapter, pointing out that the thicker book affects the price of production and distribution.
Oda teased that volume 115 contains the plot "up to that person's appearance" before urging readers to anticipate its July 3 release. In July 1997, Weekly Shonen Jump started serializing One Piece. The manga has more than 600 million copies in circulation worldwide, and since 1999, its television animation has been broadcast nonstop. The series is currently adapting Luffy’s adventures on Elbaf.
