It happens to be that even superhero grit is not enough to protect you. Evangeline Lilly's mishappened Hawaii-visit is exactly one of these circumstances.
Evangeline Lilly had made a name across screens with numbers like ABC's Lost, 2008's The Hurt Locker, as well as the Hobbit and Ant-Man movies later on. On her hiatus from Hollywood, the actress happened to sustain gruesome injuries in May 2025 while visiting Hawaii.
On January 1, 2026, the 46-year-old actress took to Instagram to commence the New Year with updates about the injury. She revealed that reports have informed that her cognitive functions are now working more slowly than average.
"Almost every part of my brain is working at a decreased level," Lilly shared. In the caption, the actress seemed to put on a brave face as she joked about her traumatic injury, not actually being perimenopause.
Evageline Lilly's updates come with her time away from Hollywood, which she had begun amid a flourishing career.
Evangeline Lilly's time in Hollywood
In 2003, Evageline Lilly had auditioned for ABC's sci-fi TV series, Lost. Not expecting to cast, Lilly ended up seeing the show to its end in 2010, and even got nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
Lilly has a successful run from recurring roles as Hope van Dyne and The Wasp across Marvel's Ant-Man movies. These had been right before she announced a hiatus from showbiz in June 2024.
Evageline Lilly's New Year has begun with not resolutions, but acceptance. As the actress races to recovery, her Hollywood portfolio exists to comfort those in anticipation.
