Heated Rivalry is living a little too up to its name, but for confusing reasons. However, some of the audience have come to fight back against the confusion.

Rachel Reid's main character, Scott Hunter, is played by François Arnaud in Heated Rivalry. While his romantic endeavour is praised in the show, his appearance anywhere around the other on-screen couple seems to have upset some.

Under pictures of Connor Storrie and Arnaud leaving New York together shared by JustJared, part of the fandom gathered to express their displeasure. Another part of the audience also came to the pair's defence.

"If this offends you: get a life. Their life is not yours to call," read one comment. Most of the backlash stemmed from the audience's unwillingness to look past the fictional characters of Heated Rivalry and at the actors as real people with vastly different lives.

The hypothesis of the displeased audience received an antithesis from the more sensible ones.

The absurdity of the attack on the actors made the opposing claims sound like everyday lessons learned. Some of the defenders also blamed overall fandom cultures for the backlash.

Heated Rivalry is probably amid its first controversy with this odd division of the fandom.

Heated Rivarly is set to return for a second season. Perhaps the 10-year time lapse set for the renewal might propel the audience to a maturity that equals those years.
