Eminem’s most recent live appearance was at Jay-Z’s second sold-out show at Yankee Stadium. The pair reunited to perform their critically acclaimed collaboration 'Renegade.' It was one of Eminem's biggest performances in recent months. With a full stadium and elaborate production supporting the performance, it quickly became one of the most talked-about moments.

Eminem’s last major performance before teaming up with Jay-Z again was during his 2024 Middle East tour, which included headline shows in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Riyadh. The concerts were his first in the region in years and featured a career-spanning setlist. It mixed classics like ‘Lose Yourself,’ ‘Stan,’ ‘Without Me,’ and ‘The Real Slim Shady’ with newer material from ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)’. The shows were backed by cinematic visuals, pyrotechnics, and large-scale stage production and drew massive crowds.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z’s second sold-out concert on July 11 broke the attendance record, attracting 45,832 fans. It occurred just a day after the opening show had set the prior mark. The concerts pay homage to the legacy of his landmark albums. Each night of the three-night show highlighted a different chapter of his career with unique themes and special guest appearances.

The first show was all ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ but the second show was a whole different ball game; It was all about ‘The Blueprint,’ and Jay brought out a whole new set of collaborators. Along with Eminem, Pharrell Williams joined Jay-Z for a string of fan favorites, including ‘Frontin’ and ‘Excuse Me Miss.’ Slick Rick also made an appearance during the show.

Eminem's return to a massive stage quickly became one of the concert's defining talking points, with fans taking to social media soon after.

Eminem's live performance sparks overwhelming fan reactions

Fans were overwhelmingly positive about Eminem’s performance, with many calling his verse on 'Renegade' one of the greatest of his career. Others noted the energy and stage presence he brought to the show. The reunion also sparked conversation about his chemistry with Jay-Z.

"Eminem’s #1 verse of all time, no question," one X user wrote.

"Eminem ate that song up back then on that album. It actually was my fav on there," wrote another one.

"Eminem always gets the biggest crowd pops wherever he goes. In wrestling terms, ladies and gentlemen, that means Eminem is a megastar. Also, I will stand on the fact that Eminem and Jay-Z tied on "Renegade," with Em's first verse and Jay's second verse," wrote a third person.

Other online responses were overwhelmingly pro-Eminem, with many fans pointing to the crowd’s explosive response. The performance reignited the argument that his verse remains among the most iconic guest verses. The reunion also prompted talk of his lyrical skills and lasting influence.

"Just watched the entire performance of Eminem with Jay Z, and also the entire performance at Yankee Stadium. All I can say is as soon as Eminem went on stage, the entire stadium erupted for him. The entire concert of Jay Z, they didn’t do that. This says everything about who the GOAT rapper is", one X user said.

"Renegade" literally means "someone who switched sides" — Spanish origin, 1500s, for people who ditched their faith. Which explains a lot: Em's verse on that song is still THE go-to case of a guest outshining the host. The title was foreshadowing itself," one X user commented.

"Eminem remains the world's best rapper of all time," wrote another X member.

Eminem’s appearance in the spotlight was one of the defining moments of Jay-Z’s historic run at Yankee Stadium. After his previous headline shows in the Middle East, this performance reignited excitement among longtime fans and renewed appreciation for his lyrical ability and live energy. As online conversations continued to celebrate both his solo act and his reunion with Jay-Z, the concert was a reminder of why Eminem is one of the most influential and celebrated performers in hip-hop.
