Netflix's road-rage breakout Beef, has driven down the highway and onto country club grounds. As another season prepares for a release, first glimpses reveal couples' quarrels with a signature spin.

Beef is known for its initial focus on an anti-romantic relationship between truck driver Danny Cho (Steven Yuen) and entrepreneur Amy Lau (Ali Wong). For the second season, the raw animosity has shifted from strangers to between a couple who have grown old together.

Joshua Martin (Oscar Isaac) and Lindsay Martín (Carey Mulligan) are portrayed as a polished and materially satisfied couple. While Joshua sails through country-club managing, Lindsay grapples with the effects of age on her body and face, in the stills released through Vanity Fair.

Austin Davis (Charles Melton), on the other hand, plays a trainer and former athlete, and one-half of the engaged Gen-Z couple seated before the Martins in the Vanity Fair exclusive. Cailee Spaeny plays Austin's fiancée, Ashley.

While Beef's second season keeps the spirit of quarrels alive, there is a completely different driving force for it this time.

The story behind Beef Season 2

Creator Lee Sung-jin had spun the first season of Beef with a personal road rage incident in mind. The second season, however, takes a turn to a second-hand, but very real incident he witnessed in his suburban neighbourhood.

A couple's quarrel that had broken out and was witnessed by some in his own locality got Lee thinking. He chose to ruminate over the perception of love across varied generations, as per Vanity Fair.

Veteran actors Song Kang-ho and Youn Yuh-jung are also joining the cast as guest actors. Beef season two is set to release on April 16, 2026, on Netflix.
