Emily Blunt has officially received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the tributes pouring in are as iconic as the actress herself. Robert Downey Jr. showed up with words that were equal parts roast and reverence. And he was far from the only Hollywood heavyweight who could not hold back their admiration.
Robert Downey Jr. took the stage at Emily Blunt's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and delivered a speech that was funny, heartfelt, and deeply personal. He called her irreplaceable as a scene partner, unforgettable as a collaborator, and one of a kind as a human being. He also took a playful dig at her husband, John Krasinski.
"Emily is an outright blunt object. She is the girlfriend you never had in high school. She is the scene partner you will never forget," he said at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
He then added, "She is the wife you cannot resent John Krasinski for landing because he is equally as dynamic and impossible not to love," emphasizing that Blunt's rare magnetism extends far beyond the screen and into every room she walks into.
Downey Jr. and Blunt starred in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer yet never shared a single scene, as their characters existed in entirely separate timelines. Off-screen, they became a beloved press tour duo alongside Cillian Murphy, known for their chaotic energy. At the 96th Academy Awards, Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor while Blunt earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination, making Oppenheimer a career landmark for both.
As Robert Downey Jr. celebrated a co-star he never shared the screen with, another legend stepped forward to claim Emily Blunt as practically her own.
Meryl Streep pours her heart out for Emily Blunt
Meryl Streep took the stage at Emily Blunt's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, joining Robert Downey Jr. in celebrating the actress. Their bond stretches back two decades to The Devil Wears Prada, making it one of the most celebrated mentor-student relationships in modern Hollywood. And Streep made sure every word she said reflected exactly that.
"Emily, I feel like I birthed you, really. I am so proud of you, and everything the fellas said is absolutely true. The best thing about you getting this at such a tender age. I am in love with you just like everybody else," she said at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making the moment one of the most emotional of the entire ceremony.
Streep and Blunt have appeared together across four films, from The Devil Wears Prada in 2006 to the recently premiered Devil Wears Prada 2 in 2026, with their bond deepening further through Into the Woods and Mary Poppins Returns. The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites them as Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton in the modern digital media landscape. Having both Streep and Downey Jr. show up and speak from the heart says everything about Blunt's place in Hollywood.
