Artists have long flocked to ashrams and spirituality, chasing enlightenment amid Himalayan serenity and ancient wisdom. The Beatles' 1968 Rishikesh retreat birthed 'The White Album's rawest tracks. Now, SZA confesses how a Bali wake-up led her to Sadhguru's Isha Foundation, and look inward, towards herself.

Speaking with i-D, SZA revealed a journey that flipped the script for her back in 2024. It all started with that eye-opening Bali trip, where a no-nonsense woman warned her about the repercussions of anger, with no remorse. With how things have progressed, SZA has now found herself harbouring faith in the things she once would have laughed at.

“I used to really make fun of girls that were into the woo-woo and the crystals—and here I am, God is very funny," she humoured.

SZA then went on to make home under Isha Foundation's Sadhguru. These were her ten days of silence vow between the 2025 film, One of Them Days' premiere, and Super Bowl rehearsals, then straight back to the ashram post-halftime show.
