The magical world of Hogwarts is missing a few things, and no, Peeves the poltergeist is not to blame. Someone on the set of the upcoming Harry Potter television series has been helping themselves to a few souvenirs. The culprit remains unidentified, and production bosses are now pulling out every Muggle tool available to stop the disappearing act.

Broomsticks, wands, pumpkins, spell books, and fake food have all vanished from the set of the Harry Potter reboot, The Sun reported. These props are not mere decoration; they build the immersive, tactile Hogwarts universe audiences expect. So when they started disappearing, production bosses responded by microchipping the lot, tracking every item daily to ensure the magic stays exactly where it belongs.

"The missing props cannot be blamed on Harry Potter's arch enemy Lord Voldemort," a source told The Sun.

The insider added, "It’s easy to suspect the dozens of support actors on set, but truthfully no one knows who is responsible," emphasising the scale of uncertainty surrounding the thefts.

The thefts surfaced during filming of a Halloween feast scene inside the new Hogwarts Great Hall at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire. The camera crew arrived to find multiple props simply gone.

While Hogwarts gets its tightest security yet, its most wanted suspect remains completely off the radar.

Posters across the billion-pound Leavesden set carry a blunt message: "Props on this production have been microchipped." Any prop removed from its designated area requires prior approval from the Props Department. Nobody has been identified as responsible, leaving suspicion spread across dozens of background performers and crew. Production bosses have vowed to monitor eBay and similar platforms, with the insider confirming that anyone caught selling props online will be punished and fired.

The theft saga arrives alongside earlier reports of bullying concerns among cast and crew, with production bosses issuing separate behavioural warnings in March. Despite the turbulence, excitement surrounding the reboot remains high. Dominic McLaughlin leads as Harry, with the legendary John Lithgow portraying Albus Dumbledore. An insider told The Sun the Great Hall is "mesmerising," adding that viewers are in for a "treat." Security concerns aside, Hogwarts appears to be shaping up spectacularly.
