HBO Brings Its Most Awaited Drama to Coachella with a Special 'Euphoria' Season 3 Premiere

Movie and TV powerhouses traditionally flock to the Super Bowl for maximum eyeballs, dropping explosive trailers and hype moments during its halftimes and ad breaks. It is the ultimate showcase, pulling billions of views, but rarely do they venture beyond those pricey slots into live experiential territory. The Euphoria team is rewriting that script, taking the show directly to the one place where their base fandom might be: Coachella.
Coachella's star-studded lineup just gained a TV twist as HBO is staging the world premiere screening of Euphoria Season 3's debut episode amid the festival's late-night campgrounds. This marks the music and arts extravaganza's first-ever series debut, blending the desert with Sam Levinson's raw A24 drama.
Zendaya leads the ensemble alongside Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, and others in the eight-episode arc, launching officially on HBO and Max the same day, Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with weekly episodes to follow. The event kicks off at 11:59 p.m. PT, right after the night's final musical act.
A social media teaser amps the hype: a black Converse high-top, straight out of Zendaya's iconic wardrobe, mashes the gas pedal on a speeding desert ride, hinting at high-stakes drama ahead. This campground spectacle underscores HBO's push to fuse prestige TV with festival culture.
While the Coachella screening promises an unforgettable night under the stars, the show's trailer just dropped a major bombshell.
Euphoria Season 3 trailer reveals Eric Dane's shocking exit
The Euphoria Season 3 trailer dropped Monday, spotlighting Eric Dane’s poignant return as Cal Jacobs, his final on-screen performance before his death from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis on February 19 at age 53. In a tense clip, Cal reunites with Jules, played by Hunter Schafer, echoing their charged Season 1 encounter.
“Remember me?” Jules asks. “How can I forget?” Cal replies, delivering a line layered with vulnerability that reflects Dane’s deeply personal connection to the role.
Dane completed filming while navigating his health battle, returning to the series after a four-year hiatus. In a June 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, he shared how pleasant it was to reunite on the Euphoria set and expressed confidence in the show’s return.
That emotional weight carries directly into the show’s rollout, which has leaned into both celebration and remembrance. From its Coachella premiere screening to the newly released trailer, Euphoria Season 3 positions Dane’s performance as a central pillar of its return, while continuing to build on the series’ signature intensity and cultural impact.
