HBO has confirmed that Season 4 of House of the Dragon will be the grand finale. The series, which has captivated audiences with its fire, ambition, and ruthless politics, will finally reveal the ultimate fate of the Targaryens in an interview with Deadline.

"So there is a natural end to this particular history of that House of the Targaryens," Casey Bloys explained. He emphasized that the series has always followed the arc of the Targaryen dynasty, promising a conclusion that honors the books while delivering unexpected twists. 

The series has won a huge audience, but George R. R. Martin has openly criticized how it was handled. His working relationship with Ryan Condal has been extremely difficult, marked by constant creative clashes, per the outlet.

Despite his deep respect for the Game of Thrones universe, his blunt assessment casts a shadow, but the real excitement now turns to the cast of season 3.
