For those who remember, Malcolm in the Middle had left its story off, unsurprisingly, in the middle. With twenty years in between, Hulu has now picked up the middle child for another spin.

Although it is not an entire season, Malcolm in the Middle's new phase is worth every detail.

For its next original, Hulu has taken a ready-made script from the 2000s. On December 29, 2025, the streamer dropped a teaser trailer for a miniseries titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life is Still Unfair.

The spin on the title bridges the now nineteen-year break from the show. The trailer displayed a string of scenes that captured the havoc around Malcolm's life, which he gets unfairly wound up in; continued.

The difference, however, was that Malcolm now seemed to be trying to stay away from his family's dysfunctionality. After almost two decades, Hulu's biggest reunion rests on Malcolm's miserable shoulders.

When is Malcom in the Middle returning?

Malcolm in the Middle first came to life on January 9, 2000, right at the turn of a millennium. Malcolm in the Middle: Life is Still Unfair is set to make its re-entry on Hulu on April 10, 2026, a little after the New Year mark.

Specialties of Malcolm in the Middle: Life is Still Unfair

The 2000s sitcom reboot will be offering a four-part update on Malcolm's life, as of 2026. From what is seen in the trailer, the cast will consist of many of the same faces.

Frankie Muniz will play his designated part as Malcolm. Jane Kaczmarek, Bryan Cranston, and Justin Berfield will be returning as well.

The original show had come to an abrupt end after its seventh season, courtesy of dropped ratings. Come 2026, Malcolm in the Middle will at least recover the beloved in-between of Malcolm's life.
