Rats have been terrifying New Yorkers for decades. However, actor Pedro Pascal seems to see them very differently. He found himself supporting rats during a segment on Unpopular Opinion on BBC Radio 1.

From comparing them to foxes to joking about their overwhelming population, Pascal's playful comments quickly charmed fans. At one point, the interviewer joked that previously, Ryan Gosling had said foxes are underrated. Pascal then talked about New York City rats, which are the size of a fox.

“Because I saw Ratatouille and I loved it. And ever since then, I love rats,” he sarcastically continued. 

For context, Gosling passionately defended the London foxes. He then described the furry creatures as cool as hell and said they have won by taking over the city. He also joked that they are underappreciated and should be on all the souvenir merchandise in London.

Meanwhile, Pascal defended rats, saying they work very hard, and they deserve it. He further joked that since there are more rats than people, maybe people should show them a bit more respect. The actor's jovial comments thrilled the interviewer.

Pedro Pascal recently discussed the hard work that went into bringing Din Djarin to life in The Mandalorian and Grogu. He described how stunt performers Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder helped define the iconic bounty hunter’s physicality through the years. During the movie's premiere, Pascal was reunited with Sigourney Weaver, as he praised the world of Star Wars and shared his excitement about the beloved franchise.

Meanwhile, Dave Filoni teased the future of the Star Wars universe. Additionally, Jon Favreau revealed the new film is meant to welcome a new generation of fans while rewarding long-time viewers with hidden connections and Easter eggs. The film stars Pascal, Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White.

Directed by Favreau, it continues the story from the series The Mandalorian on Disney+. Taking place in the Star Wars universe not long after the fall of the Empire, the film follows bounty hunter Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu on a quest to save Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt. Speaking to the BBC, Pascal said audiences had connected strongly with the relationship between Din Djarin and Grogu.  

On the other hand, apart from discussing the emotional connection fans have with Grogu, Pascal had a hilarious interview moment when he randomly defended New York City rats. The actor joked that the animals were hard-working and said that humans probably should respect them a little more since rats seem to outnumber people in New York City. However, he also admitted that they should probably stay out of people's bathrooms.
