Show boss Neil Cross sees Luther, Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson), and Schenk (Dermot Crowley) as kin, brewing their next shadowy tale, as always. The new round reunites helmer Jamie Payne and scribe Cross, backed by Chernin Entertainment and Elba's crew.

New players like Stephen Dillane, Anya Chalotra, Kyle Soller, Ian Hart, and Niamh Algar join the main trio. Payne has even gushed about plunging back into "Lutherland" with Elba and Wilson's fierce Alice as per The Hollywood Reporter, amplifying the anticipation.

While Luther stirs shadowy crimes, Idris Elba's Hijack has been ramping up the tension right after its second run.

Apple TV+'s Hijack Season 2 wrapped up on March 4, putting crisis expert Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) to the ultimate test. He outmaneuvered villains holding a Berlin U-Bahn train hostage, all to rescue his ex-wife, Marsha, who is fleeing the same c------- network behind his son Kai's passing.

A season 3 now hangs in the balance, hinging on unfinished business with the finale's big reveal: mastermind Stuart Atterton has pulled strings on both the hijacking and Kai's m-----. On the other hand, Jim Field Smith prioritizes fresh Sam-centric stories tied to past events over repetitive high-concept vehicles like boats or limos, as per his talk with Variety.

He envisions evolving beyond hijacks into new territory, ensuring narrative depth rather than chasing formula success. Idris Elba's return as Luther in the sequel film, with first looks teasing gritty London shoots and a stellar cast reunion, reignites the detective's haunted saga, blending fresh threats with lingering shadows that keep fans hooked.
