Jackie Chan's shadow has crossed Japanese borders, in cinematic sense. The Shadow's Edge's espionage, it seems, has captured the hearts it set out to steal.

Widely lauded game designer Hideo Kojima has shown his bias for the Larry Yang directed The Shadow's Edge. With its cast helmed by Jackie Chan, the Death Stranding creator praised the entire length of the film on X.

"From the opening shot to the very last moment, it’s an all-out feast," Kojima exclaimed.

Holding ample skill in the creating action-adventure experiences, the 62-years-old acknowledged the film's packaging of the espionage genre.

Kojima's praise spanned over to recommend the movie as a must watch. Initially released in August, 2025, Jackie Chan's action rebound seems to have Hideo Kojima enchanted.

The Shadow's Edge, along with Hideo Kojima's acknowledgment, has gathered several more noticeable adornments .

The 2025 China-Hong Kong action installation marked Jackie Chan's blockbuster return to the silver screen. The Shadow's Edge marked Chan's second collaboration with director Larry Yang, following 2023's Ride On.

The film also stands as a adapted version of the 2007 movie Eye In the Sky. Jackie Chan's lead role in the film was accompanied by the famous joining of Korean boy-band Seventeen's member, Wen Junhui.

Larry Yang's initial connection to the film, and Jackie Chan's energetic performance have now gained Hideo Kojima's approval. As the game designer's year end watch, The Shadow's Edge justifies its label of a prime espionage movie.
