Avatar: Fire & Ash's release wreaked the deserved havoc on December 19 and for a week as well. James Cameron, however, believes better to be careful before making already cautious decisions for Avatar 4 and 5.

Avatar: Fire & Ash earned an ample $345 million in its opening weekend. Regardless, James Cameron has his reservations about proceeding with the rest of the Avatar movies.

The third Avatar installation took a dip from Avatar: Way of the Water's $435 million kickstart. Cameron's assessment covers how releases like Zootopia 2 and Wicked: For Good are bettering the low year for the theatre.

"The world has changed. We all know the stats, where theatrical is. It’s been a bad year," he told Variety. He explained that, above all, how much Avatar: Fire & Ash makes will decide the franchise's fate.

The box office numbers for the Avatar movies have caused havoc in millions. The universe in Avatar itself has seen havoc in its literal sense.

Avatar had begun with the introduction of Pandora and the Na'vi people. Bridged by their human-species-powered annihilation, Avatar: Fire & Ash descended the universe into a total state of battle.

"That's the world we live in right now, we've seen it in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine," he explained to Middle East Eye. He throws light on the fine line between good and evil in each world, pitting the state of the Na'avi alongside humans.

James Cameron is currently waiting out the gross period for Avatar: Fire & Ash. The results are what the future of Avatar teeters on, in the meantime.
