However, Statham’s Adam Clay does not seem done yet, as the much-awaited The Beekeeper 2 pushes him into a far bigger fight. This time, as he deploys extreme bee-based tactics, the battle shifts beyond enemies, threatening to shake control at the highest level.

Set for a theatrical release on January 15, 2027, The Beekeeper 2 brings Jason Statham back as Adam Clay, but this time as a wanted man hunted after the fallout of the first film. As revealed during CinemaCon 2026, the story expands as the once-secret Beekeeper organisation turns rogue, pushing Clay into a mission that goes far beyond revenge. With the kidnapping of the U.S. President at the centre, the sequel shifts into a full-scale political action thriller.

Meanwhile, this time, Clay appears more raw and unrestrained, moving through the chaos with off-the-grid precision and unconventional bee-based tactics, even using them to heal. Director, Timo Tjahjanto drives the character into a harsher, more violent space, sharpening his presence into something far more ruthless.

Taking over from David Ayer, Tjahjanto steps in with a reputation for intense, gritty action, best known for The Night Comes for Us, signalling a sharper and more aggressive tone for the sequel. The film is written by Umair Aleem, while Amazon MGM Studios backs the project after securing global rights in a deal worth over $50 million, further elevating its scale and reach.

Beyond Adam Clay’s mission, the film builds its scale with a powerful lineup both behind the camera and on screen.

Alongside them, Jason Statham returns as Adam Clay, anchoring the sequel’s central conflict.

At the same time, the film expands its lineup with new power players, including Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland, adding fresh energy to the narrative. With the first film turning a $40 million budget into a $162.6 million box-office success, Amazon MGM Studios now aims to scale that momentum even further with the sequel.
