Jimmy Kimmel has a noteworthy and extensive history of making political jabs. His Jimmy Kimmel Live! opening monologues over the years changed from being primarily apolitical pop-culture humor to heavily incorporating incisive, frequently politicized commentary. Liberal journalists and viewers have praised him for his political activism, but it has also garnered harsh criticism and high-profile conflicts with Republican leaders.
Even though Jimmy Kimmel is presently on summer vacation from anchoring his late-night talk show on ABC, he is still criticizing the Republican Party. Senator Mitch McConnell, who was recently hospitalized on June 14, is Kimmel's most recent target. In response to concerns about the 84-year-old politician's health, he shared a picture of himself on social media.
McConnell shared a picture of himself in bed with his wife, Elaine Chao, on Instagram. It appears that McConnell is holding a copy of The Washington Post from Sunday in order to verify the date the picture was taken. Apparently, all this effort has been taken to dispel rumors about his declining health.

Many others questioned the photo's authenticity, which only raised more concerns about McConnell's health. Unable to pass up the chance, Kimmel posted a revised version of the image to his own Instagram site. It had all the same elements, but instead of McConnell, it showed the late-night host on vacation sitting next to Chao on the hospital bed.
"For those who've been asking, I'm feeling great," the late-night host captioned the photo.
A scarcity of information about McConnell's condition and his absence from public life over the previous few weeks has led to online conjecture that his health had drastically declined, including claims that he was brain dead. In his Sunday statement, the senator tried to set the record straight.
As hilarious as Kimmel’s post was, some of the comments on the post were even more hysterical.
Jimmy Kimmel’s post gets humorous engagement
On social media, Jimmy Kimmel's parody photo received a lot of praise. Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett wrote, "You NEVER miss!" in admiration of the comic. Will Sasso, a fellow comic, mocked the doubt around McConnell's photo by remarking, "Not buying it. Kimmel looks way younger in this pic — was likely taken years ago.”
In contrast to Senator Mitch McConnell, Kimmel has kept the public informed throughout his two-month summer vacation by posting pictures of himself fishing and savoring deep-dish pizza from Chicago. Rosie O'Donnell, Colman Domingo, and Tiffany Haddish are a few of the famous guest hosts who will take Kimmel's place this summer. After Labor Day, Kimmel will resume his show. For what it is worth, his recent post indicates that he has not lost his edge during his vacation.
