Turns out Steve not only babysits well, but also sings, too. Backed by Joe Keery, he has even managed to take down Max's Upside Down soundtrack, Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'.

Djo, or Joe Keery's track 'End of Beginning', has surpassed Kate Bush's re-reigning, 'Running Up That Hill'. The overtaking happened on the Billboard Alternative Digital Song Sales chart, marked for December 13, 2025.

While both songs connect directly or indirectly to Stranger Things, they have held their separate traces in music history. 'Running Up That Hill' was released in 1985, but flourish graced it even past the 20th century.

Kate Bush's track had surged on Billboard charts in 2022 after featuring in Stranger Things' fourth season. Appearing on several episodes, the song holds a special bond with one of the protagonists, Max Mayfield.

Djo's 'End of Beginning', for one, went from slight stages to camping on TikTok, riding on a strong wave of nostalgia.

How Joe Keery marked the End of Beginning with nostalgia

Joe Keery first performed 'End of Beginning' live in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 28, 2022. But it was two years later when the song actually hit fame.

All through 2024, users used it in videos on TikTok, placing it at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its fifth week after chart debut. The synthpop track, with its home-calling verses, received nominations at the Billboard Music Awards and Brit Awards.

Djo's chart triumph blends with Joe Keery's stardom from Stranger Things. The victory over Kate Bush, however, feels like walking on a carved path rather than a conquest over pop culture. With nostalgia fuelling both tracks, they echo off the charts.
