Tom Holland and Zendaya have become Hollywood’s ultimate power couple, but no amount of box office success is what has left Jon Bernthal most impressed. As anticipation for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continues to soar, Jon Bernthal turned the spotlight away from blockbuster spectacle and onto the couple’s real-life romance. And needless to say, fans could not have asked for a sweeter endorsement.
Speaking to Variety at The Odyssey world premiere, Jon Bernthal looked far beyond Tom Holland’s blockbuster resume, insisting the actor’s greatest triumph is the life he has built with Zendaya. Admiring the sincerity and depth of their relationship, the Punisher star admitted nothing makes him happier than seeing Holland love so wholeheartedly, adding that he could not be prouder of his longtime co-star.
“Beyond all the movie star stuff and success that guy has, the fact that he has that kind of relationship — and that he loves as hard as he does — makes me so happy. I’m so proud.” Bernthal told Variety.

Jon Bernthal's recent praise arrives at a fitting moment, with Bernthal, Tom Holland, and Zendaya all sharing the screen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, while Holland and Zendaya are also set to reunite in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. From Spider-Man: Homecoming to Far From Home, No Way Home, Brand New Day, and now The Odyssey, the duo has quietly transformed from Marvel sweethearts into one of Hollywood’s most bankable blockbuster pairings.
Now, with two of 2026’s biggest tentpoles placing them side by side once again, Tom Holland and Zendaya seem to have tightened their grip on Hollywood’s hottest blockbuster throne.
Tom Holland and Zendaya reunite for Christopher Nolan’s biggest epic yet
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey storms into theatres and IMAX worldwide on July 17, bringing Homer’s timeless Greek saga to life on a staggering cinematic scale. Matt Damon leads the charge as Odysseus, while Tom Holland steps into the role of Telemachus and Zendaya commands the screen as Athena, anchoring one of the year’s most star-studded ensembles.

The mythological spectacle follows Odysseus’ relentless decade-long journey home after the Trojan War, where monstrous creatures, unforgiving seas, and impossible trials stand between him and Ithaca. Back home, Telemachus fights to protect Penelope as Athena quietly shapes their fate, setting the stage for what is already shaping up to be one of 2026’s biggest cinematic events.
With The Odyssey finally ready to sail into theatres, Mr. and Mrs. Holland seem to be winning hearts just as effortlessly off-screen as they do on it.
