He has also removed previously AI-generated vocals to prioritize a more authentic sound. The album’s stripped approach also reflects a broader personal recalibration happening behind the scenes.

In early 2025, West claimed his 2018 bipolar diagnosis was a misdiagnosis and stated he is autistic following reassessment. In January 2026, he published a full-page apology in The Wall Street Journal, attributing past antisemitic remarks to manic episodes linked to his diagnosed bipolar disorder.
