On January 26, 2026, Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West released a full-page apology in Wall Street Journal. The contents of which spoke at length about the events and West's actions in the last few years. The rapper claimed that a skewed diagnosis and prolonged ignorance of the actual problem led him further away from reality.

"I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem," Kanye West has written. He acknowledged the confusion and fright his close ones may have faced while dealing with him. The rapper also detailed and apologized for making detrimental statements against the Jewish community.

"In that fractured state, I gravitated toward the most destructive symbol I could find," he wrote in the open WSJ letter. West claimed there were some decisions he made, which he has no recollection of, hinting at dissociative episodes, ones he now wishes to be held accountable for.

This apology also comes hand in hand with West's new album, which is slowly picking up pace.

'Bully' was announced as the name of Kanye West's twelfth studio album. While the news came in 2024, the months and then two years that followed saw little to no musical fruition. There was somewhat of a rejoicement when a December 2025 release was teased, but to no avail.

In early January 2026, things began speeding up, and a January 30 release date was announced for the album. It has been confirmed to hold thirteen tracks, of which five songs have already been released on various streaming platforms. These include 'Preacher Man', 'Beauty And The Beast', 'Damn', 'Last Breath', and 'Losing Your Mind'.

Kanye West's open letter falls in line with his upcoming album, making fans look forward to better times. With his apology, West has shed light on the reality of the last twenty-five years since his accident.
