If not hip hop, Kanye West might as well be the master of full circles. While his disapproval of his children not being on social media had risen when North West had not even learnt how to spell the word, his words echo loudly through the 12-year-old's growing online carousel.

North West launched her official solo Instagram account with her first post on December 19, 2025. Of the many things it connotes, one major pointer is her father, Kanye West's loudly stated disapporoval of it.

Kanye has kept a firm stance against his children using TikTok or any social media a few times now. The first outburst came in 2022, when he found trouble while parenting his children.

Compelled by not being allowed past security to pick up his children from school, Kanye made his wishes apparent.

"My children ain't going to be on TikTok without my permission," he shared on Jason Lee's Hollywood Unlocked in January 2022. The now 12-year-old, however, claims her own digital space under this very glare, as of December 2025.

Kanye West might have barricaded the digital gates, yet here comes North West, peace-signing her way past the velvet rope.

North West's Instagram bedazzles on

North West's first post looked very much like that of a tween out to explore their niche, topped with a peace sign. Sporting a mini skirt and knee-high boots, the blurry-set debut has set the stage for her personality to come through.
On the other hand, her bio clearly states the account stays under parental management. A rapid follower growth reflects her ready-made audience. ​

North West's Instagram debut directly challenges Kanye West's long-held views on social media for young children. At age 12, she steps forward on a platform he had long resisted for his family.
