"I cried through that movie, just at the hopeless beauty of us all," Elordi said while speaking with W Magazine. The actor revealed that a scene from Ang Lee's book adaptation made him reflect on humankind's very beauty.

In particular, the frame involved Kate Winslet's epiphanic realization as Marianne, which Elordi witnessed while eating ice cream, as per W Magazine. It might be for this very empathetic understanding that the actor received his first Critics' Choice Award for the 2026 season.
