Kiefer Sutherland has candidly opened up about the difficult decision to cancel the U.S. leg of his Love Will Bring You Home Tour, admitting that “very low ticket sales” ultimately forced the move. In a message shared with fans on Instagram, the actor-musician said continuing the shows would not have felt fair to audiences or venues if attendance remained low.

“With great disappointment, I am going to have to cancel the U.S. leg of my tour due to very low ticket sales…I don’t think it’s fair to the people who have bought tickets, or the venues, to play to half-empty houses,” Sutherland wrote in an Instagram statement. The 59-year-old added that refunds would be available at points of purchase and expressed hope that he could return to touring the United States at a “more suitable time.”

The actor best known for 24 and Designated Survivor is still scheduled to complete the U.K. and European dates of the tour, which supports his upcoming fourth studio album, Grey, set for release on May 29.

The cancellation also arrives at a time when several artists have either postponed or scrapped tours in recent months, often citing challenges ranging from scheduling and health concerns to shifting audience demand and rising ticket costs. For Sutherland, however, the decision came down to transparency with fans.

Yet beyond the canceled dates, Sutherland has quietly spent years building an entirely different career outside of Hollywood — one many fans may still not know much about.

“In many ways these songs mark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life,” Sutherland wrote on his website while discussing the album, according to Daily Mail. The songs were written and recorded between 2024 and 2026, reflecting what he described as a more personal chapter of his life.

“I hear about an actor wanting to do music, and my eyes roll back too.” Speaking to People, the actor acknowledged the skepticism often surrounding actors entering music. Interestingly, Sutherland once admitted he initially resisted the idea of becoming a recording artist altogether. But after years of songwriting and collaboration, what began as an unexpected creative outlet slowly turned into a genuine second career.
