Some claim a dark aura trails their steps, one that drives men to obsession, madness, and ruin. Although a theory whispered by those in tune with pop culture like gospel, Kim Kardashian, added weight to it by addressing the Kardashian curse directly.

In an effort to shatter the viral internet rumor linking their relationships to sports failures, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are making a bold move. Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram Stories on February 6, revealing her Fanatics bet on the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots. 

The 45-year-old risked 69 cents for a potential $347,222 payout. Shortly after, Kylie Jenner followed suit on February 8, admitting she mirrored Kardashian’s bet. With these daring actions, the sisters are clearly breaking the Kardashian curse and silencing the long-running rumors.

Their wager followed sister Kendall Jenner publicly supporting the New England Patriots, enlisting former NFL star Tom Brady for guidance. On January 28, she FaceTimed Brady during Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, explaining she wanted all possible information to make an educated choice. 

Kendall told him she considered him the perfect source for insight. After careful consideration and analysis, she ultimately decided to go with the underdog, surprising fans with her bold choice. But the shadow of the Kardashian curse still looms, making it harder for them to prove the sceptics wrong.

Despite there being no statistical proof, these are the male entities that audiences claim to have suffered from the infamous Kardashian curse.

Fallen hearts: Men who allegedly fell under the Kardashian curse

Rumor has it that 14 men have allegedly not survived the so-called Kardashian curse. Kanye West faced public meltdowns and financial losses amid personal struggles. Lamar Odom endured accidents, addiction, and heartbreak after marrying Khloe Kardashian. Scott Disick battled substance abuse and relationship turmoil with Kourtney. 

Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandals and team's losing streak fueled curse rumors. Tyga’s music career floundered after his split from Kylie Jenner. Kris Humphries’ reputation crumbled following his brief 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian. But the list does not end there.

Reggie Bush lost momentum in his football career after dating Kim Kardashian. Ray J became better known for the infamous tape than his music. James Harden called his romance with Khloe Kardashian the worst year of his life. 

Damon Thomas filed for bankruptcy after divorcing Kim Kardashian. Rashad McCants blamed a stalled NBA career on Khloe Kardashian. Devin Booker suffered a crushing loss in the NBA Finals while dating Kendall Jenner. Pete Davidson struggled under intense public scrutiny, and Rob Kardashian battled depression. And now it will be interesting to see them break the curse at the 2026 Super Bowl.

In truth, there is no curse to break, only a fondness for mythology dressed up as pattern recognition. After all, careers falter, relationships collapse, and men unravel every day without a Kardashian in sight.

Thus, when Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner theatrically place tiny Super Bowl bets on the Seattle Seahawks, and when sister Kendall Jenner cheerfully engages in Super Bowl ad banter, they are not battling destiny so much as poking fun at gossip. Their wager ahead of Super Bowl LX is less exorcism than self-aware performance art.
